The Skowhegan Alliance and Regina Rex are pleased to present Out of the Woods, a one-night video screening of Skowhegan Alumni exploring the theme of ritual. Curated from nearly 200 submissions of Skowhegan Alumni, the event explores a diverse range of interpretations of what it means to perform a series of actions for symbolic meaning.

Regina Rex is an artist-run exhibition space located on the border of Ridgewood, Queens and Bushwick, Brooklyn. Through an inclusive collaborative structure, we aim to build an exhibition context that is rigorous, cogent and driven by our engagement and dialogue with other artists. There are currently thirteen participating curators at Regina Rex.
Skowhegan, an intensive nine-week summer residency program for emerging visual artists established in 1946, seeks each year to bring together a gifted and diverse group of individuals who have demonstrated a commitment to art-making and inquiry to create the most stimulating and rigorous environment possible for a concentrated period of artistic creation, interaction and growth.
The Skowhegan Alliance, a committee of Skowhegan alumni, supports Skowhegan’s mission and the notion of community it fosters by organizing programs and events for alumni and the broader Skowhegan community.
